Here come the nice, looking so cool,
Affable Comics... the company with the 'TM' after the word "Comics," finally has an example of sequential art on display.
On the other hand, Affable Comics hasn't even been in business for 2 years yet! Look at everything on display - all for you. Back in August 2006, this place was just a domain name and a logo. Lonely! Brrrrrr!
The one chuckle I have been able to wring from the sponge of my time & money, has been the convoluted journey that lead to this crazy story "Black Magic Charlatans." In the past 2 weeks I've experienced sudden flashbacks to an episode of the Simpsons where Bart created a comic that for all intentions is cut from the same cloth of super-heroic disco that B.M.C. boogies to.
And we needed 16 pages of compressed intensity to get to the same place that Bart's comic strip bullseyed in 3 panels.
Screen capture above.
There is still major-action, mystery, surprise-twists, and exposition in store for our "Black Magic Charlatans."
No Emo Vampires though.
Fun was had - in places. Teeth were ground - a lot.
As always, and I do mean always, my best effort was given.
Diligence & determination are not things to lament when creating art. They are prerequisites. Success comes from how honest the translation is.

Hey! I know what you are thinking. Where's the big 'n' bad (meaning good) update
you promised us for May 15th?!! Maybe that's not what you were thinking, but let's pretend it is.
I'm another art pagan...yes, the deadline has been missed.
I've become what I hate. The indolent artiste.
That diversionary entertainer all of us media-devouring fans rail against.
Even Gune Fang over there is more angry than usual, and I didn't think that was possible!
I'll be sleeping with one eye open for a spell.
Trust me, a dozen little gnomes are crafting comics until their wee fingers bleed.
All to meet the demands of my ambitious dreams of self-indulgent entertainment.
We are getting close to completion my pretties. My airtight scheme to build the anticipation
level to a fever pitch still holds its ground. Meanwhile, the rest of you are all out golfing,
draining kegs of mead, or attending some funky film festival in Austin, Texas.
You know,... people with a life.
Art is a full-time obsession. If you want to make it happen "for real" that is.
Of course, spending countless years yapping about doing "this or that old thing"
works great in the "what if I won a million dollars" category.
Speaking of winners, I'd like to wish my Father a very Happy Birthday today.
This is the man responsible for my interests in all things genre.
He took me to the movies that I liked, because he liked them too.
He infected me with a love for the music of Motown, Buddy Holly, and Harry Belafonte
-- I take full responsibility for my Ramones & Ozzy Osbourne collection!
He introduced me to the art of Ron Cobb. Thank The Lord!
Finally, my Dad used to read comics to me at bedtime. Mostly Marvel.
I still recall Marvel's Killdozer adaptation that he somehow found for me...last week. (kidding)
Add up the above list of influences from my Dad, and it ain't hard to figure-out how I became
the filthy rich, chick magnet that I am today.
"Ahem..."
Happy Birthday Dad!

Wow. A whole month has passed.
Not much to show for it on the surface;
however,...the tunnels to entertainment are being dug!
Here's a picture sent in from our loyal pal Darin Wand.
He's the Webmaster of Eternal Randy Rhoads.
A site you should visit & support via our handy links section.
Darin is a great guy.
Not because he bought a Decadence Day T-Shirt.
Oh no, because he posed his shirt with a guitar.
Ya can't beat that.
Well, if he included a nuclear powered cougar in the mix,
that might up-the-tempo a notch...or two.
Look for our next site update May 15th.
